| Okami to sweep up at Game Developers Choice Awards?
Gears of War, Okami and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess are among the nominees for 'Best Game' in the seventh annual Game Developers Choice Awards.This year's GDCA, the awards program where honours are bestowed to developers by developers, will take place during GDC 2007 on March 7, the ceremony to be hosted by legend Tim Schafer of Double Fine Productions. Joining Gears, Okami and Zelda as 'Best Game' nominees are Oblivion and Wii Sports. Out of a total of eight categories in the awards, Okami and Oblivion have actually been nominated four times each. Awards for Audio, Character Design, Game Design, Technology, Visual Arts, Writing and New Studio join the Best Game award. Konami Ships Marvel Trading Card Game

GBA Attends Zoey 101
THQ has announced that today they shipped Zoey 101 for the Game Boy Advance all across North America. The game is based on the popular live-action television series of the same name on Nickelodeon. Players will be able to interact with everyone from the show while playing the game. The game will follow the storyline of Seasons one and two where players take the role of Zoey Brooks who is starting a new school-year at Pacific Coast Academy, a former all-boys school. Its up to Zoey to get the boys and girls to get along, and finish the year with the best bash the school has ever had. Through the game, you get to play an assortment of mini-games made up of different sports, scooter races, dance-offs, and more. Depending on how you play the game will effect the outcome as well with multiple endings available to provide plenty of hours of replay.
Playstation 3 hopes to beat out competition in Australia on March 23rd
After a 5 month set-back in Sony's scheduled release of the Playstation 3 in Australia, the release date is finalized for March 23rd. Though many feel the PS3 will explode into an eager market, it seems there are a few variables that might limit the success of Sony's next-generation console in Australian homes. The Playstation 3 is far from the game console many of you grew up playing (any Super Mario or Sonic fans out there?); it is a feature-packed entertainment center, including features such as a Blu-ray disc player, Bluetooth connectivity, wireless internet card, full 1080p HD display mode, free web browser and instant messaging client, and the list goes on. You may wonder why this all-in-one super box won't be in every house in the world, and the list of reasons worth reviewing.
Pokemon Battle Revolution Wii's First Online Game
WiiConnect24 is a neat little experiment, but most gamers are just a bit more interested in head-to-head online play, something that could have been incredibly valuable in a game like Red Steel or Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz. The infrastructure simply wasn't there, but Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime says they're on the ball now. During a D.I.C.E. interview conducted by The Mercury News, Fils-Aime revealed Pokemon Battle Revolution would be the first Wii title released with online play and online development kits are now starting to get into the hands of developers, so we should see more of that in 2007.
