| Coming to an arena near you: Roundball Classic
First we had the LeBron Game. Last year it was the Oden Game. Now we have the Quest to be Best, as Kevin Love and O.J. Mayo -- players ranked as high as 1-2 by some scouting services -- headline the 43rd annual Roundball Classic, which will be played April 3 at the United Center. I was among those fortunate enough to watch the summer clashes in Las Vegas between teams headed by Mayo and Love. Meanstreets Express, which featured Simeon's Derrick Rose, Indiana prep star Eric Gordon and Leo's Tony Topps, also was there. The four-team pool in the 304-team Big Time Tournament also featured the Michigan Hurricanes, led by DePaul recruit DarQuavis Tucker and Oak Hill Academy's Alex Legion. Both are playing in the Roundball Classic. Calling that tournament Big Time was an understatement.
PlayStation Store Thursdays
Sony Computer Entertainment America will update the PLAYSTATION Store on Thursday with Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection for the PLAYSTATION 3 (PS3) computer entertainment system, and an exclusive behind-the-scenes video for MotorStorm just in time for next weeks launch of the brutal, no-holds-barred off-road racing game. In addition, firmware 1.54 for the PS3 system is now available for download, providing enhancements to the video chat functionality. VIZ Takes Bite out of Big Apple Comic-Con
San Francisco-based manga and anime powerhouse VIZ Media had a high profile at the New York Comic-Con show this past weekend. Offering an interative photo booth that allowed attendees to pose with popular characters from shows such as Bleach, Naruto and InuYasha, the company also spread the word on a variety of its new titles and games based on Ninja Academy and Naruto. During the three-day event held at New Yorks Jacob Javits Center, VIZ introduced exclusive manga tie-ins with Dragon Drive, Millennium Snow, Skakugan No Shana, Pokemon Mystery Dungeons: Ginjis Rescue Team. Comic-Con fans were able to get their hands on the latest volumes of Bleach, Naruto, Death Note, Beauty Pop, Full-Metal Alchemist, Naoli and InuYasha before they appear in stores nationwide. The studio also offered two new Death Note promo trailers.

24 Hours Later:
Two students from the Bluffton University baseball team were still fighting for their lives on Saturday morning in the ICU at Grady Hospital. Two others also remained at the hospital, one in serious condition and one in fair condition. The other 25 victims who survived the accident have been discharged.
A spokesman for the charter bus company expressed his condolences.
