| Nissan 350Z Ogura Racing Clutch Twin-Charged
Building a fast car is one thing, building a show car is another. Combine the two and you have a pretty hard job on your hands. Ogura Racing Clutches (ORC for short) has been in the aftermarket tuning game since the beginning. Their lineup of racing and street clutches has for years earned them the respect they deserve, and their experience in the racing field has helped greatly advance their products. And so for 2006 they thought it would be a good idea to go all out and create a car that would not only attract crowds during this year's show season but also perform like no other on the road: Enter the ORC twin-charged 350Z. One look at this extreme machine and it's not hard to understand why the ORC stand was flocking with curious people at the Tokyo Auto Salon back in January. There is absolutely nothing sedate about this pearl-white Fairlady Z.
The Jester’s Quart: Let’s Go To the Videotape!
Growing up in Jersey, I had sportscasters like Warner Wolf on Channel 2, he of the famous "Lets go to the video tape!" segue; Len Berman of Channel 4, whose "Spanning the World" highlights package (narrated by Don Pardo, naturally) would piece together everything from Morganna the Kissing Bandit sightings to fiery drag racing crashes in which (altogether now) "No one was hurt!"; and Russ Salzberg of Channel 9, who didnt have any of the folksy shtick of the other two, but came across like a dude from the old neighborhood that had the Mets yearbook committed to memory. And he also had some truly awful sweaters, like a 5-year-old had chewed up and thrown up a box of Crayolas on something the Salvation Army rejected. I thought about all of them this week as a true pioneer in the industry said good-bye to his nightly gig on Channel 4 in Washington, D.C.
Comedian Jeff Foxworthy talks about hosting Fox's new game show ...
If Fox has its way, the pantheon of Great Questions What is consciousness? How does Magic Shell work? is about to welcome a new member: Are you smarter than a 5th grader? In the brain-teasing game show of the same name, adult contestants attempt to win a million bucks and avoid unspeakable humiliation while fielding questions last seen on elementary-school pop quizzes. (Contestants are allowed to ''cheat'' by consulting with real-life fifth graders.) Are You Smarter is proving no ratings dunce; the Feb. 27 debut chalked up 26.5 million viewers, making it the network's highest-rated series premiere ever. (Granted, it's airing this week after American Idol.) To find out what's so great about grade-school grillings, we tracked down host/noted redneck scholar Jeff Foxworthy on the playground at recess.
X-Men in big hole against V-Reds
The St. Francis Xavier X-Men face a daunting task in their Atlantic university hockey semifinal. After losing twice in Fredericton, the X-Men must now win three straight games against the high-flying UNB Varsity Reds. The uphill climb starts Sunday night with Game 3 of the best-of-five series. Clamping down on UNB’s counter-attack and generating more offence in five-on-five situations will be among the keys for the X-Men, who lost 4-1 Wednesday and 4-2 Thursday. St. F.X. has yet to score an even-strength goal. "We have to play more five-on-five hockey and get a goal or two there," said St. F.X. coach Brad Peddle. "This series is tight checking and that’s the way it has been both games. Chances are scarce and you have to make good on a chance when you get it.

Girl's outgrown clothing comes to a fitting end
I had been meaning to do something with my daughter's old clothes for quite a while. I tried putting most of the ones from her baby years in a yard sale. They're beautiful clothes, and my prices were reasonable. But none of the seven people who bothered to stop at the yard sale had babies. (Senior citizens apparently don't have much use for adorable little pink dresses.) .
Morabaraba for your cellphone
A team of South African students have won an international award for developing an online, cellphone version of the traditional African board game Morabaraba. David Vannucci, Teddy Mwakabaga and Rolan Christian from the University of the Witwatersrand's school of electrical and information engineering received a silver medal for their entry, "Mobiraba", at the SIMagine Awards in Barcelona last month. "Mobiraba the cellphone game was tested at the 2006 National Morabaraba Trials and received excellent reviews from experts," said Professor Barry Dwolatzky, the team's supervisor. Cellphone users can play Mobiraba online by logging on to a game server and chosing between two gaming options. A quick game allows the user to be automatically matched up against another quick game player of a similar skill level, while an organised games allows the user to send out invitations to a chosen opponent.
Nintendo Wii Review: The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess
Before anything can be said about The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess there are a few points that we need to be discuss. First and foremost, the game is a port of the GameCube version so set your expectations at that level. Second, the game exists on the Wii solely to push product. Nintendo needed a name that guaranteed people were going to overlook the uncertainties of the Wii's philosophy and that name was Zelda. Unfortunately, as an introduction to Wii gaming, The Twilight Princess is a failure. Motion controls are bland and often consist of little more then just waving the Wii Remote side to side to swing your sword. One would think that you'd at least be able to swing up and down to do a vertical slice attack, but sadly that's just not the case. All motion controls act exactly like a button press, nothing more, and were most likely chosen because there simply aren't enough buttons, not because they were a good idea.
