GreatGamesExperiment.com Unveiled to Public

Eugene, OR (PRWEB) March 2, 2007 -- GreatGamesExperiment.com, a social networking site centered around gaming, is pleased to announce its public beta release.

"Getting games made is only half of the problem. Finding an audience once you have sweat out two or three years of development is extremely difficult," says Great Games Experiment creator Jeff Tunnell. "Getting a lot of 'eyeballs' to look at your game is important, and social networking sites are a method of allowing a community to create its own content and momentum. Having indie games presented side by side with commercial games should get more recognition for the indies."

By providing a free resource for developers to network and promote their own games, users also have an opportunity to play games that can not be found on other aggregation sites.

4A Girls Notebook | Samms is swatting away records

One fact always surprises major-college coaches when they call Mount Tahoma coach Calvin McHenry to ask about the girl who blocks so many shots.

They can't believe junior Shauneice Samms is only 5 feet 9. That usually causes the recruiters to back away because Samms isn't the anticipated height of 6-2 to 6-4.

McHenry hopes the coaches take another look at Samms after her record-breaking performance in a 69-52 consolation game win over Bellarmine Prep at the Class 4A state girls basketball tournament on Thursday at the Tacoma Dome.

Samms shattered the tournament record for most blocked shots in a game with 11. She also tied the record for most rebounds in a game with 23, set by Walla Walla's Shelly Ray in 1984 and tied by Franklin's Rhonda Smith in 1991.

EAST BANK, W.Va. - Mason Chapman (Fr., Barboursville, W.Va.) hit the game-winning single to score Josh Valle (Fr., Brentwood, N.Y.) in the 10th inning and propel the Marshall baseball team to a 9-8 victory over Buffalo Saturday at Epling Field in the first game of a doubleheader. Unique Slot Machine Part Of Casino Auction

I've noticed that powerful businessmen often have a love of slot machines and games of chance in their homes. Those with a taste for vintage machines may want to know about this one-of-a-kind machine, a 5 cent Schiemer-Yates "Gibson Girl" floor model slot machine. It was manufactured in 1905 and will be auctioned off as part of the Victorian Casino two day antique auction March 3, 2007 and March 4, 2007 on eBay Live Auctions. The auction will feature over 1,000 lots of antiques and collectibles including juke boxes, calendars, and bar fixtures. The slot machine is in beautiful shape and has been in a private collection for 30 years. It should bring in $100,000 to $300,000. .

Men's basketball: Majerus not revealing how interested he is

Majerus, the former Utah coach, has been making calls to college basketball middlemen inquiring about the University of New Mexico men's basketball position, according to a source close to the subject.

If the Lobos are looking for a big-name coach with a winning reputation, Majerus carries 11 NCAA Tournament appearances and a NCAA runner-up finish with Utah in 1998. He coached against the Lobos in the Western Athletic Conference and the Mountain West Conference. Majerus quit the Utes in 2004 because of health problems.

Majerus, who turned 59 last month, told The Tribune on Monday he didn't know if he would return to coaching, but he wouldn't talk about coaching jobs in the future.

Sandy Montag, Majerus' agent with IMG sports, said the agency isn't actively pursuing a coaching job for Majerus, currently an ESPN commentator.
