GAME PREVIEW

(7:00 p.m. ET, TV: FSN NY | Radio: Bloomberg 1130) It's back to the road for the Islanders as they take on Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals tonight at the Verizon Center.

The Islanders didn't end their seven-game home stand the way they had hoped, but looking at the overall stretch, they can certainly be proud of their performance over the past month.

In seven games, the Islanders compiled 11 points and have moved right into the middle of the playoff hunt. With games still in hand on the teams around them, the Islanders share seventh place with Carolina and trail Atlanta by three points. Montreal and Toronto are nipping at their heels, but the Islanders are looking forward not back.

Ryan Smyth made his Islanders debut in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to St.

DS News: The Game Factory to Bring RPG Game Code Lyoko to Nintendo DS

The Game Factory signed the worldwide license to bring MoonScoop's Code Lyoko to Nintendo DS over a year ago. The publisher has just released a pack of in-game screenshots, a sign of the game coming to fruition soon. Here are a couple of screens and more detail about the game. CODE LYOKOTM for Nintendo DS will be featuring elements from both the RPG and adventure genre. The game will be based on the popular 3D animated action-adventure television series about a group of students who uncover a parallel universe called Lyoko inside a super-computer that is threatened by a virus that could destroy the universe. Four ordinary students, Jeremy, Odd, Ulrich and Yumi, must help a virtual humanoid creature named "Aelita" to stop rogue computer XANA's latest attack on their real world...The television series has been rated one of the best shows of all Cartoon Network series.

Fight Night Knocks Out Tekken And Virtua Fighter

Its interesting that fighting games have evolved in such a tenuous way. Tecmos Dead or Alive series struggles to maintain content over sexual controversy. While Sega and Namco seem to vie for top-spots putting out streamlined fighters that take very little risks, but reap high rewards. I would count SNK and Midway in this fray, but nobody seems to care about KOF and MK anymore. EA, however, has capitalized where others have failed.

If youre really into fighting games but want something thats not so arcade-ish, youll notice that simulation fighting games come far and few when measured against shooters, racing titles and other arcade fighters. Fighting fans usually suffice to take what theyre handed and deal out mild criticism despite the fact that they know they deserve better.

One DoFus trailer coming right up

Our first impression of DoFus by Ankama studio (a french game developer) is that it looks like Ragnarok Online. The characters are cutesy and anime-ish and the movement looks to be pretty much the same. That is until you get to the part where the PvM (Player versus Monster) occurs. You will find yourself thinking, this looks like a Final Fantasy battle. The combat is turn based and looks to be working well.

But you should see all that for yourself with this video. More DoFus updates as they happen. Enjoy the video!

With a total of 75 24-hour days devoted to World of Warcraft (WoW), Simeon Vincent, Northville senior, thinks he might have a problem.

"I recognize its an addiction, but that doesnt mean Im going to stopits an interesting and fun game," Vincent said. "Tobacco does bad things to you, but the worst WoW does to me is I dont hang out with my friends as much."

Blizzard Entertainment (WoWs publisher) claims that as of Jan. over 8 million people have active accounts. Vincent is not alone in the fantasy realms of WoW.

WoW is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game that engages players from all over the globe. Since hitting American shelves on Nov. 23, 2004, players have been forming friendships with fellow players to adventure on epic quests, slay monsters and obtain valuable WoW items like the "Sword of Lifestealing" or "Breastplate of Stamina."
