Warriors spoil Golden Bears' playoff run
The women's basketball team saw its season come to an abrupt end on Friday night when the Golden Bears fell at East Stroudsburg, 72-48.
KU headed into the game with a chance to earn the final playoff seed in the PSAC East, but were unable to keep up with the Warriors, who sealed up their second consecutive division title with Friday's win.
The Lady Bears finish the season at 9-17, including 5-7 in the PSAC East, and will miss the playoffs for the first time in 12 seasons.
"It was a tough year, but the experience the young players received should help us be successful down the road," said head coach Janet Malouf.
"We had a rebuilding year and I think everyone learned something from the season," said junior center Mercedes Van Wagner.
